Job Application (Activities Director)


We’re looking for a certified Activities Director.  The Activities Director will coordinate, plan, and conduct the resident activities program.

The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • Design and implement a creative and exciting activity program that caters to the social, cultural, educational, wellness, creative, recreational, and spiritual needs and desires of those in our care and assess resident preferences so that this program is meaningful to them and enhances their well being

  • Coordinate volunteer services through recruitment, orientation, training, and direction of volunteers

  • Establish and maintain good public relations with community to provide and/or support outside activities and special projects for residents (i.e. church services, special concerts, performances, school groups, etc.)

  • Plan and implement an activity calendar each month, provide a calendar for each resident, his or her families and friends, and post calendars throughout the facility

  • Provide one-to-one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting.

  • Ensure that documentation adheres to state and federal guidelines

  • Coordinate holiday decorations and activities

  • Maintain Activity Department budget, equipment, and supplies

  • Train staff to be able to carry out the activity program in the absence of Activity Director

  • Coordinate special events that include residents, families, friends, and the community at large


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have completed state certified activities training program and currently certified/licensed/registered
  • Basic computer skills


  • Two years experience in related field
